Products and Services Review would like to honour quinquagenarian company CP Cases as our Protective Equipment Cases Company of the Month.
The company started out during the buoyant UK 1970’s music scene providing transport casing for rock legends like The Rolling Stones and Queen. The touring case for rock legends, The Who take pride of place in the reception headquarters in West London.
The company expanded its audience as its product line grew, providing solution for the defence military and outside broadcasting sectors predominantly, but supply transport solutions to a whole host more including medical, energy, police and security industries; whilst keeping ties with their touring roots.
The majority of products are specially customised from the CAD design process to manufacturing using the latest rotational moulding and CVC machinery.
One of their newest products is the VCC2 portable compact AC system. This 19-inch rackmount protects personnel and equipment from the heat, humidity and freezing elements. This portable climate control system is ideal for remote locations with extreme temperatures.
The VCC2 Unit was teased to audiences at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) trade show in Amsterdam earlier last year. Laura Poole, Head of Marketing and Communication admits that protective casing is often a last thought to purchase by major companies, “We tend to be an afterthought in many industries. Companies often make cutting-edge equipment and then, at the final hurdle think ‘I need to protect this.’ We are often approached at trade shows by procurement or engineers who are looking for a bespoke transporting solution. We are lucky enough to have everything in-house from CAD design to manufacturing and can get to work straight away.”
CP Cases take pride on implementing cutting-edge research into the factory through employing engineering graduates from the Queen’s University Belfast with latest KTP Associate, Alex McNabb, currently helping to digitise the manufacturing process within the factory to create a more efficient workflow.
In 2020, the company expanded its UK site to incorporate a rotational moulding facility increasing its service capability and there are future plans to upgrade the CVC machines. With 90% of the orders requiring customised manufacturing, the company can now increase its global exporting of cases.
