Motorcycle Live is the UK’s largest motorcycle show, supported by over 50 motorcycle and scooter manufacturers and this year the show welcomed over 90,000 customers.
Taylex Group had three clients exhibiting at the show and was fully responsible for managing the entire process from initial design concepts to completed exhibition stand builds for Kawasaki, Royal Enfield and BSA Motorcycles, totalling 1,300m2 of consumer-engaging displays.
Kawasaki
Located in the centre of the show, the eye-catching Kawasaki stand boasted 800m2 of floor space to showcase over 50 motorbikes, including the latest electric and hybrid models, road and off-road machines, race bikes, and displays from Kawasaki UK partners such as the California Superbike School and the Kawasaki MX Experience.
Kawasaki wanted to go big with a stand that would outshine the rest of the exhibitor at Motorcycle Live, being the first ‘real’ return to the show post covid and with crowds back in the tens of thousands.
Partnering with modular structure supplier beMatrix for its first UK deployment, a double-deck stand housed a merchandise store complete with the new season clothing and accessories, plus a VIP Club Lounge for Club Kawasaki members overlooking the expansive stand.
Antony Burton, UK Account Manager of beMatrix, says, “With the world of stand building constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing creative needs of global event customers, we’re thrilled to work with Taylex Group in the UK distribution of our sustainable, double-deck modular system. Taylex Group embodies our mission of delivering high-quality, forward-thinking and efficient service – we look forward to a collaborative year ahead working with a wealth of new brands looking to take their brand presence to the next level – literally!”
Craig Watson, UK Sales and Marketing Manager of Kawasaki UK, explains, “The creative process for the stand is a two-way street, we’ve a long-standing relationship with Taylex Group who have our trust as they know our DNA, understand our direction and know how to deliver an overall package without the need for us to get involved in the finer details. Demonstrated by their suggestion of a stand to ‘go-big’ post-COVID, their creative concepts have been brought to life in the shape of an impressive stand you can’t miss – impressing dealers, other trade competitors and cultivating an unforgettable customer experience.”
He goes on to say, “We’ve enjoyed the advantages brought to the show this year by having a beMatrix double-deck structure, namely the double footprint for extra hospitality and retail opportunities, and look forward to seeing how Karl and his team go the extra mile for us at future events.”
Royal Enfield
Having supported Royal Enfield the previous fortnight at the world’s largest motorcycle show, EICMA held in Milan, Taylex Group continued its long-standing relation in delivering their programme of events by creating the UK display to ensure brand consistency across Europe.
Royal Enfield stunningly unveiled their new Super Meteor 650 at EICMA, the world’s largest motorcycle show held in Milan only a few weeks before. So with less than two weeks to build, dismantle then transport from Italy to the UK to build up the stand again was the task at hand.
Taylex Group specifically designed and produced the stand as a modular kit format that is used across all shows throughout Europe, ensuring the consistency of the brand’s messaging at each event.
Royal Enfield EMEA Marketing Manager, Mark Spiller, adds, “I’ve worked with Taylex Group directly for over a decade and regardless of whether it’s a UK or European show, the service from them is always the best. From Day One, Taylex Group put customer service first and I have relied on them, it’s not just a supplier relationship but a partnership.”
After working on the roll-out of their dealer stores, BSA Motorcycles expanded its creative partnership with Taylex Group to design a bespoke stand promoting their return and the launch of the new BSA Gold Star bike, across a wealth of promotional events.
BSA Motorcycles
In 2021, after a tantalising wait, BSA Company Ltd launched its first new model since the company ended its sixty-three years of non-stop production abruptly in the summer of 1973.
After working on the roll-out of the BSA dealer stores, BSA Motorcycles expanded its creative partnership with Taylex Group to design a bespoke modular stand to promote the launch of the new Gold Star bike, across a wealth of UK and European promotional events, the first being Motorcycle Live at the NEC, in the company’s birthplace Birmingham.
This would be BSA’s first exhibition stand since their return, a build that must encompass the heritage and feel of the BSA brand. Incorporating redbrick reflecting the original bike factory in Small Heath, the stand featured a private meeting space, a retail area and BSA’s new range of bikes for customers to engage with.
Roy Pinto of BSA Motorcycles says, “The decision to expand our working relationship with Taylex Group is reflective of the impeccable service and expertise we’ve experienced to date. From discussing initial brief concepts through to the completed stand build, they’ve acted as our event partner, not just a contractor. Understanding how to take our brand ethos, maximising it through an impressive show presence and engaging with new and existing customers is pivotal – thanks to Taylex Group, our European event exposure has delivered just that!”
Taylex Group Managing Director, Karl Clark, concludes, “Having the opportunity to work with three esteemed brands within one show is a testament to our team’s ability to consistently deliver projects to the highest standard. It’s a proud achievement to showcase local talent, passion and industry-leading ability in the events sector – cemented with our appointment as Official Supplier to the NEC Group which saw us expand our range of production services to support agencies, organisers, exhibiting brands and contractors. Operating as part of the Taylex Group, our on-site Expo Supplies store is strategically located opposite Door 3.4 in Hall 3. Servicing increased client demand for additional exhibition and event production solutions, we now offer an expanded team based at the NEC, complementing our extensive 30,000m2 headquarters and production facility based in Halesowen.
“We are delighted to welcome Taylex Group as an official supplier to the NEC,” said NEC Group’s Director of Property, Partnerships and Media. “The home-grown business has built a strong and trusted reputation, not only in the Midlands events market but in the UK and across the EU – we’re proud to have seen them deliver many successful projects at the NEC in recent years. The company’s strategic positioning at the NEC will allow it to continue to provide excellent concept-to-creation services and help more brands make a successful impact at the venue. We look forward to further collaboration, together providing the highest level of service to our customers.”
