We are delighted to feature jobmate as our ERP Software Company of the Month in this issue of Products & Services Review.

jobmate was created in 2018 as one of the first providers of Native Cloud ERP software to SMEs and mid-market organisations who were required to report under MTD.
Company founders: Chris and Wendy Dalton are both experienced business leaders, with expertise ranging from startups to fortune 500 Director. With the introduction of MTD (Making Tax Digital) in the UK, Chris and Wendy saw that MTD compliance required a micro-ERP where data was collected through digitalisation of workflows and integrated into an accounts package – with vertical reporting.
Democratising ERP
Traditionally, ERP has been ‘on-prem’ and exclusive to those that could afford it, with a select number of highly expensive organisations serving the upper-end of the business markets. However, the jobmate founders saw this changing, especially with tax legislation driving smaller businesses into requiring more mobile-friendly, feature-led and cost-effective ERP solutions.
The advent of Native Cloud hosting is a much understated yet very significant event, whereby the operating system and the data storage (database) is hosted by a cloud service provider (typically AWS or Azure). This means highly secure, scalable, low cost and easy connectivity with other Native cloud software which may be required for specialist services.
jobmate is hosted in the AWS cloud and is leveraging this global facility; the founders knew competitors would struggle to change old habits and high costs structures, but as true pioneers, they created a market-leading opportunity, and jobmate was born for scale-up to global enterprises.
Deep dive into jobmate
jobmate focuses on the digitisation of actual work tasks, procurement of items, stock management, workflows, HR, planning, customer service, assets, costings, quotes and invoicing. In fact, complete data collection of every action and function within an organisation to enable instant financial assessment and managerial decision making for any business.
jobmate is not a FMS Financial management system: it is an ERP system. There is a significant difference to many other software providers of CRM, FMS, MRP etc, who often ‘piggyback’ the ERP terminology as they try to emulate ‘True ERP.’
Founder insight
“The number one key problem jobmate addresses is the user interface with software: designing from the mobile to the desktop, offering as standard, Android and Apple apps, designed for desktop access as a PWA (Progressive web application which sizes automatically to any screen) – for example with jobmate there are no overly-complicated and expensive devices, or the high servicing and maintenance costs which come with them.”
“The key three verticals jobmate focuses on are: Transport and Logistics, Field Service and Construction services (i.e. HVAC) However, businesses which have any form of job management workflow can use jobmate, as it can be customised to all working methods.”
“jobmate is all about leveraging the latest technology: the tech’ world is changing fast and software development is becoming global, but it’s not all about software development, rather it’s about ERP business knowledge. jobmate are business people not developers. We understand business outputs and deliverables and focus on efficiency and cost reduction,” explains co-founder: Christopher Dalton.
